Incarnation & the Truth of Beloved Presence

I’ve been reading Anam Cara by John O’Donohue. In it he talks of Christianity as being a religion of incarnation, but one that is actually really bad at teaching incarnation to it’s followers.

The body and the Earth have been vilified and scorned and derided as at best, unimportant and disposable, or at worst, a vile and sinful abomination created to tempt and ruin our miraculous soulful selves.

This isn’t just Christianity - most religions in the world have some aspect of dismissal of the physical body. Either to re-orient focus to greater spiritual truths, or as an aspect of control and subjugation over as many bodies as possible in this life.

Either way… we don’t have a great spiritual/physical harmony in Western society.

It’s a wound.

It’s a wound and an ongoing assault on ourselves in this life to hold ideas of our bodies as being anything less than an integral, loved and loving part of the Universe.

It is a wound to see the physical world as anything other than Loving Wholiness.

Divine Reminders of love and gratitude to the physical world in the Library.

Beloved Presence is a school for divine reminders of the loving wholiness in the physical world.

I didn’t understand until recently how very specifically I am focused on the physical experience of divine wholiness in the flesh.

How we can allow experiencing the presence of the Anam Mór while living in clay bodies in a physical world?

How do we become aware of the presence of loving wholiness in all of Creation?

When I decided on “Beloved Presence”, these ideas were vague and half-formed. I had no idea how absolutely it is the literal focus on the experience of incarnation.

We are the Universe. We are the Anam Mór. We are ‘god’ and ‘christ’ and the only purpose we have is to embody the truth of loving wholiness.

My role is to accept this truth as the guide. My path is to accept this truth as existing here and now in the flesh on Earth in all human and non-human beings. Follow the truth of loving wholiness and everything will fall into place.

How the fuck do we do that?

Answering that question for myself is why this Beloved Presence exists.

Because “how the fuck do I do that?" is my life’s only purpose.

I can only ever know or share my own experience and wisdom on this path.

Sharing that with you makes it real in the world.
